At Villa Vimmerby, a stay is about more than just accommodation. Here, the play continues after a visit to Astrid Lindgren's World, while adults have the opportunity to relax in a quiet and personal environment. We want to create the kind of holiday we ourselves long for – where children have space to play and discover, while adults have time to land, socialize and enjoy the little moments. We are a family-friendly hotel where the whole family will feel at home – from the smallest adventurers to the adults who long for a few days of recovery.
The garden – a green oasis in the middle of Vimmerby
Our lush garden is the heart of Villa Vimmerby. Here, children can run barefoot between the berry bushes, greet the rabbits and play freely while adults relax with a cup of coffee in the sun or sink into a garden bed after the day's adventure. There is a popular no-touch-the-ground track, a cube and other outdoor games, space to run and play and our cute rabbits who are happy to greet curious children. There are gates on both sides so you can safely let the children play freely.
In the garden you can pick strawberries, wild strawberries, currants, raspberries and blackberries and anything else that the season and the garden offer.
You are welcome to use the grill in the yard if you want to have dinner out in the garden. There are also dining groups here.
At the same time, there are quiet places where you can enjoy your morning coffee before the day starts, or relax on a garden bed after the day's experiences.

Every morning at 08:30 our appreciated breakfast basket is served filled with delicious and simple flavors from local food producers. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the room, out in the garden or taken on the day's excursion. For families who want to cook their own food, three of our four accommodations have fully equipped kitchens. Time together without screens
There is no TV in our accommodations. It is a conscious choice. We want to make room for story reading, family games, conversation and play – things that easily fall into the background in everyday life. Many of our guests say that this has become one of the most appreciated parts of their stay.
Luxurious organic body care
The holiday should be enjoyable for the whole family. That's why we have taken great care to create a calm and harmonious environment where adults can also relax.
In the bathrooms you will find organic body care products from Swedish c/o Gerd. The natural scents, carefully selected ingredients and the feeling of quality contribute to that little extra holiday luxury that makes your stay even more relaxing.
Inspired by Astrid Lindgren's world
Astrid Lindgren is dear to our hearts and is a contributing reason why we chose to move to Vimmerby and something that still inspires us in our everyday lives. She grew up here and much of her history is preserved in the town.
We have chosen to theme our accommodation in her spirit and have many interior details that are recognizable from her wonderful fairy tales. Some things are Pippi-esque and others are recognizable from the era when Emil or Madicken lived. All the fairy tales in our libraries are connected to Astrid Lindgren, as are the games and toys.
Our farm is located in the historic parts of Vimmerby and there are many anecdotes about Astrid in the area. Feel free to ask us if you are curious!
